It takes a purple stair to get to the top of the building

But there’s no purple stairs in sight.

Red stairs, blue stairs, yellow stairs

no purple stairs

People are dying

but the firemen stand around looking stupid

as no one has remembered about the purple stairs.

if perfectly usable stairs have to be cast away,

for one that is just perfect, but out of reach
